Confirmed: Emily Maynard The New ‘Bachelorette’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Emily on ABC’s “The Bachelor”It’s official – Emily Maynard is the new “Bachelorette.”

The single mom who found a love that didn’t last with Brad Womack on Season 15 of “The Bachelor” will start her own search for love on the ABC dating reality show.

Emily’s season of “The Bachelorette” – the show’s eighth, will premiere this spring on ABC.

According to a release sent out by ABC on Tuesday morning, Emily is seeking a man who makes her laugh, “doesn’t take himself too seriously and can be her best friend,” the release read.

ABC describes Emily as a full time mom, devoted to daughter Ricki, 6. She also volunteers in her spare time.
